The Strange Experiences of the Weekman Family

Michael Weekman reported that he had experienced strange rappings on his front door when no one was there. He could feel the door move with each knock, but when he flung it open, nothing. He walked circles around his house and found no one.

The Weekman's 8 year old daughter felt a person run its hand over her sheets, late one night. When the hand touched her face, it was cold. After that, the child refused to go to bed alone. Eventually, these strange incidents caused the Weekmans to move out of the house.

These stories were taken down by E.E Lewis, a lawyer from Canandaigua who came to investigage the rappings. In 1848, he published the pamplet "A Report of the Mysterious Noises Heard in the House of John D. Fox, in Hydesville, Arcadia, Wayne County."
