The Divine Principles of Nature

In 1848, Andrew Jackson Davis' book, the "Divine Principles of Nature," was an American best-seller. In the book, Davis claimed that the dead were in daily contact with the living, even if the living didn't realize it. "The truth will 'ere long present itself in a living demonstration," he said. "And the world will hail with delight ... that era when the interiors of men will be opened and the spiritual communion will be established."
